Immunization protection is always an important topic when traveling. Since we will be only traveling in Europe there are not that many vaccinations that are necessary.
When we compare the recommended vaccinations across countries we recognize that there are not that many differences between Germany and the other countries. We compared the vaccination needs with the help of the German Foreign Office. Unfortunately, the usability of the website is not that good because you have to check every country separately.
Here is a list of all vaccinations that are recommended across Europe:
- Diphtheri
- TBE (tick-borne encephalitis)
- Hepatitis A
- Hepatitis B
- Tetanus
- Typhus
- Relevant for kids: Measles
Since we already have all recommended vaccinations, we don’t have to do much. And the little one needs all vaccinations anyway.
We haven’t decided yet, if we want to get a vaccination against rabies. The thing is that the cure is the same serum as the vaccination. And even if you got the vaccination you need two more shots if you had contact with infected animal saliva.
